MAD PROPS FOR THE WILDCAT

And said props have come from the most unlikely of sources, The New York Times. That's right. Each year, the venerable newspaper publishes the Year in Ideas. The eight annual edition appeared in the NYT Magazine on December 14 and guess what made the list...

In the pros, the idea of creatively spreading the offense found expression in the so-called Wildcat formation, which the Miami Dolphins first used in September to pummel the New England Patriots in a surprising 38-13 victory. It is now popular leaguewide.

I can't think of higher praise. So put away the Mojitos, Dolfans. Join the Merlot drinkers of Manhattan in toasting the Wildcat...

you know who this is said...

congratulations, Dolphin fans. What happened this year is why you stick with your team even when they're terrible - so when things turn around, you don't have to come back, because you never left. Think Jerry Jones wishes he had ditched T.O. and kept The Tuna? It seems like a miracle, but with Parcells involved, there's not much miraculous about it. The man knows the game, he's done this at every stop. Got it done a little more quickly than expected, but it was expected, and he got it done. May you end the Ravens season next.
